ABUS stands for quality

ABUS stands for August Bremicker Und Söhne. The German August Bremicker started producing padlocks in the basement of his home. Business went well and soon both his sons came to work in the company. That was in 1924, almost 100 years ago. Probably neither August nor his sons dared to dream that this would be the start of an enormous success story. The small factory in Volmarstein an der Ruhr has grown into a company with branches on all continents and around 3,500 employees worldwide. The family business is today owned by the third and fourth generations of Bremicker. Today, the ABUS Group develops and produces much more than just padlocks. They offer a wide range of German quality products in the areas of safety at home, safety on the road and object security.

ABUS padlocks

It is not without reason that an 'Abus lock' is synonymous with a padlock. ABUS is by far the best known and largest manufacturer in the field of padlocks . The range of padlocks that ABUS produces is very wide; Traditional brass padlocks are available in many variants, from very small, for example on a suitcase or travel bag, to very large, heavy padlocks, with or without combination lock. These padlocks are also available keyed alike. The ABUS Marine series has been specially developed for outdoor use, they are rust-resistant and therefore very resistant to all weather influences. With the TITALIUM series, ABUS has developed a padlock that is just as safe as traditional brass padlocks, but with a very low weight. By using an innovative material, these locks are beautiful to look at and just as burglar-resistant.

ABUS bicycle locks (ring locks)

Use a frame lock to lock your bicycle easily and quickly. This prevents a thief from riding away on your bicycle in an instant. Most bicycles have a frame lock, but in practice a second lock is not an unnecessary luxury. This should, for example, be a chain lock or cable lock with which you can secure the bicycle or moped to a fixed object.

ABUS cable locks

A cable lock, or spiral cable lock, is a steel cable with a plastic coating so that it will not damage the paint of your bicycle. The locks are available with an integrated lock, but it is also possible to opt for a cable with a separate padlock. In both cases you can choose a lock with a key or a lock with a number combination. An advantage of ABUS cable locks is that they are available in large lengths (10 m). So also ideal for securing garden furniture or other loose objects.

ABUS chain locks

A robust, sturdy chain lock can act as a deterrent to potential thieves. That is of course a bonus. Chain locks with hardened steel links offer high protection against cutting or sawing. We have heavy chain locks with the ART quality mark for your expensive electric (cargo) bike, scooter, boat or motorcycle. These locks are available in multiple lengths with an integrated lock or a loose chain that can be used with a padlock or disc lock.

ABUS combination locks

An ABUS combination lock can be opened with a specific combination of numbers without the use of a key. You can choose your own combination of numbers with the ABUS combination locks. These locks are available as hanging, cable and chain locks. In recent years, ABUS has also applied the combination lock to several specials, such as the COMBIFLEX, which is a compact roll-back cable lock of 120 cm. The COMBIFLEX is an ideal solution to protect your skis, snowboard, bicycle helmet or buggy against occasional thieves. Due to its size and low weight, the lock simply fits in your jacket pocket.

ABUS TSA luggage locks

When traveling to the USA, it is recommended that you provide your luggage with a TSA luggage lock. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is authorized to open suitcases and other luggage at security checkpoints. TSA employees can effortlessly open these padlocks on your luggage with a key. After the check, they neatly close the suitcase again. If they do not have this, you run the risk of finding your luggage damaged and unlocked on the baggage carousel. In recent years, more and more countries have started working with TSA locks at their airports.

ABUS wall and ground anchors

With a series of ground and wall anchors, ABUS has developed an option to attach your valuable cargo bike, scooter and motorcycle extra safely to the wall in, for example, the garden, bicycle cellar or garage.

After mounting the wall or ground anchor, it is almost impossible to remove the anchor without heavy tools. It is a robust anchor with a hardened bracket made of special steel and has an ART4* inspection. By attaching an electric cargo bike or scooter to an ABUS ground or wall anchor with an ABUS chain lock, your two-wheeler is extra well secured.

ABUS key garage

The ABUS key garage is a safe way to store keys or cards. The solid metal box can be opened with a numerical code. There is a version that can be mounted on the wall, but also a mobile, flexible version for temporary or one-time use. You can attach this mobile version with a steel-hardened bracket. The KEYGARAGE offers a solution if frequently changing people need access to keys or cards. Only authorized persons have access to the content with a numerical code. The code is easy to change if the circle of authorized persons changes. The KEYGARAGE is a practical solution for, for example, home care workers, car rental companies and holiday home owners.
